American Sugarbeet Growers Association Board of Directors Fall Board Meeting, November 2017, Washington, DC
As a part of the Fall Board Meeting, the Board members had the unique opportunity to meet with staff from both the House Ag Committee and the Senate Ag Committee to discuss the political climate in Washington DC under the new administration as well as preparations to gear up for the new Farm Bill which is on the horizon. It's clear that staff from both sides of the political aisle are ready to get to work on behalf of agriculture, and they are always happy to visit with farmers.
Of particular interest was that these meetings were held in the beautiful and historic House (below left) and Senate (below ) Ag Committee Hearing Rooms, respectively. It was impressive to meet in these same rooms where so many important agriculture decisions have been made.
